Severe Storms and Flash Flooding Threaten Philadelphia Region
The Philadelphia region is under a First Alert for severe weather on Tuesday, July 28, from 8 a.m. to midnight. Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected, with risks including flash flooding, damaging wind gusts, and isolated tornadoes. Elevated humidity levels are creating favorable conditions for strong-to-severe storms. On Monday, July 27, a Flash Flood Warning was in effect for Delaware County, Montgomery County, and Philadelphia until 8 p.m., with some flooding reported in Hammonton, New Jersey. Temperatures are currently in the mid-80s °F (29-30 °C) and are expected to remain in the low 80s °F (27-28 °C) through midweek.
