Worcester Police Seek Woman After Off-Duty Officer Found Dead
Worcester Police are actively searching for Karen Solomon, 58, in connection with the death of an off-duty police officer. The officer was found deceased at a residence on Wildwood Ave. early Tuesday morning. Police Chief Paul Saucier confirmed the discovery and stated that Solomon is presumed to be armed and dangerous. She was last seen on foot, walking towards Westcott Street, wearing pajama shorts and a tank top. Worcester County DA Joseph Early Jr. indicated that Solomon is a suspect and was present at the house with other individuals. The investigation is in its early stages, with multiple agencies, including Customs and Border Patrol, Mass State Police, Homeland Security Investigation Office, and the U.S. Marshal’s Office, assisting with resources such as helicopters and K-9 units. Solomon is known as the co-founder of Blue H.E.L.P., a non-profit dedicated to honoring law enforcement officers who died by suicide, and has authored books on law enforcement issues.
