EPA Predicts Improved Air Quality in Pittsburgh Amidst Lingering Wildfire Smoke
Pittsburgh is currently experiencing poor air quality due to thick surface-based wildfire smoke originating from Canada and Northern Minnesota. This smoke has been affecting western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, and northern West Virginia. However, officials from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) anticipate a significant improvement in air quality over the weekend. The smoke has been a persistent issue, impacting the region's air quality and visibility. Meteorologist Lauren Linder reports that while the smoke continues to linger, relief is expected soon as weather patterns change.
