ICE Plans Major Deployment in New York City in Response to State Law
Tom Homan, President Trump's border czar, announced a significant increase in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in New York City. This move is a response to a new state law that limits cooperation with federal immigration enforcement. The law, signed by Governor Kathy Hochul, restricts state and local police from participating in civil immigration enforcement and prohibits federal authorities from using local facilities. Homan argues that the law will necessitate more neighborhood arrests, raising safety concerns.
