Densho Welcomes New Team Members and Restructures Leadership Amidst Growing Demands
Densho, an organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Japanese American incarceration, is undergoing a significant leadership transition and organizational restructuring. The changes coincide with the retirement of Content Director Brian Niiya. Densho is welcoming two new team members, Lisa Doi and Jonathan van Harmelen, both recent Ph.D. graduates with extensive experience in Japanese American history and community involvement. Lisa Doi, based in Chicago, brings connections to Japanese American institutions and strong organizational skills, having previously worked with Tsuru for Solidarity and the Japanese American National Museum. Jonathan van Harmelen, based in Sacramento, has a background in academic publishing and has been a key contributor to the Densho Encyclopedia.
