Central Florida Arts Nonprofits Collaborate to Defy National Funding Decline
A coalition of 45 arts nonprofits in Central Florida, known as the Collaborative Campaign for the Arts, has significantly increased its fundraising efforts, raising $9 million in 2025 compared to $3.8 million in 2021. Spearheaded by United Arts of Central Florida, the campaign unites various arts organizations, including performing, visual, and literary arts, to enhance funding and awareness. This collaborative effort has successfully countered the national trend of declining arts funding, which saw a 30% drop in contributed revenue from 2023 to 2024, according to SMU DataArts. The campaign focuses on unrestricted gifts for operating budgets, allowing organizations flexibility in fund usage. The initiative has also attracted new donors, with 1,400 new contributors last year, and aims to raise $10 million in the current campaign.
