GoFundMe Campaign Raises Nearly $1 Million for Infant Daughter of Times Square Stabbing Victim
A GoFundMe campaign has successfully raised close to $1 million for the 5-month-old daughter of Erin Piacenti, a Bank of America executive who was fatally stabbed in Times Square. Piacenti, 32, was killed on Monday in what New York police described as a random and unprovoked attack. The incident occurred on her first day back at work after maternity leave. The fundraiser, titled 'In Memory of Erin Piacenti: Supporting Madison's Future,' aims to collect $1.2 million and had surpassed $851,000 from 8,700 donors by early Saturday afternoon. The funds are intended to support Piacenti's daughter, Madison, and will be directly managed by Piacenti’s husband, Frank. The campaign was organized by Frank Piacenti's brother-in-law in consultation with the family. Police identified the attacker as Pamela Cisneros, 49, of Queens, who was shot and killed by officers at the scene. A 68-year-old man was also injured during the stabbing.
