Mesquite Rotary Club Hosts 12th Annual Mudd Volleyball Tournament, Raising Over $7,000 for Scholarships

The Mesquite Rotary Club recently held its 12th annual Mudd Volleyball tournament at the Virgin River Hotel in Mesquite, Nevada. The event saw twenty-eight teams and over 170 athletes participate, successfully raising more than $7,000 for the Rotary Club’s scholarship program. This year marked a change in venue, as expansion plans at the Eureka Hotel, which hosted the tournament for the past 11 years, necessitated a move to a dirt lot behind the Virgin River. Melissa Eligul, president of the Rotary Club of Mesquite, coordinated the construction of six volleyball pits, vendor sites, and parking areas for the event. Crews from NRC Construction and Odyssey Landscaping prepared the site by moving dirt, setting poles and nets, and laying plastic in the pits, which were then filled with water and Mesquite dirt to create knee-deep mud.
