Texas Court Orders Theodore Knox to Pay $2.88 Million for Street Racing Crash Involving Rashee Rice
A Texas court has issued a default judgment against former SMU cornerback Theodore 'Teddy' Knox, ordering him to pay $2.88 million in damages for his involvement in a 2024 street racing crash in Dallas. The incident also involved Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice. The judgment, delivered by Judge Kim Bailey Phipps, found Knox 'grossly negligent' in the crash, which resulted in several injuries. The awarded amount includes punitive damages and compensation for medical expenses and lost wages to one of the victims, Kathryn Kuykendall. Rashee Rice, who was also involved in the crash, has already faced legal consequences, including a six-game suspension from the NFL and a guilty plea to felony charges. Rice is scheduled to go to trial on June 9 for his role in the incident.
