Vermont Woman Charged with Animal Cruelty After Dog Found in Overheated Car
A woman from Vermont, identified as Nicole Oleson, was charged with animal cruelty after her dog was found in a dangerously overheated car in a New Hampshire Walmart parking lot. The incident occurred when Conway police responded to a report of a dog left alone in a vehicle with all windows shut. The temperature inside the car had reached 114 degrees, posing a severe risk to the animal. An animal control officer intervened, and the dog, showing signs of heat stroke, was taken to Conway Veterinary Hospital. The dog's core temperature was recorded at 107.5 degrees, a level that could lead to organ failure. Due to the severity of the situation, the dog was transferred to Maine Veterinary Medical Center for advanced care. Police have confirmed that the dog is expected to recover fully.
