New Hanover County Vice-Chair Dane Scalise Joins North Carolina Hunt State Policy Fellows Program
New Hanover County Board of Commissioners Vice-Chair Dane Scalise has been selected to participate in the sixth cohort of the North Carolina Hunt State Policy Fellows program. This bipartisan initiative, organized by The Hunt Institute, brings together local elected officials from across North Carolina to focus on education policy. The program aims to strengthen public education through leadership development and policy engagement. Scalise expressed his enthusiasm for exploring solutions to enhance local schools and opportunities for families in New Hanover County. Fellows will convene for a series of sessions covering early childhood education, K-12 systems, postsecondary attainment, and workforce development, engaging with experts, state agency leaders, legislators, and educators to identify strategies for improving student outcomes.
