NTSB Schedules Hearing to Investigate Cause of UPS MD-11F Crash in Louisville
The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has announced a hearing scheduled for May 19-20 in Washington, D.C., to investigate the cause of the UPS MD-11 Freighter crash that occurred in Louisville on November 4, 2025. The crash resulted in the deaths of 15 people, including three crew members and 12 individuals on the ground. The accident was triggered by the failure of the aft mount assembly holding the aircraft's left-side GE Aerospace CF6 engine, which separated from the wing shortly after takeoff. The NTSB hearing aims to gather testimony from investigators, manufacturers, and other stakeholders to determine the circumstances leading to the crash.
