The New York City area is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m. EDT on Monday, August 10, 2026. A heat advisory is also in place for New York City, northeastern New Jersey, the Lower Hudson Valley, most of Long Island, and parts of Connecticut, including coastal Fairfield County, Westchester, and Rockland counties, until 7 p.m. EDT. High temperatures are expected to reach around 90°F (32°C), with heat indices ranging from 95-100°F (35-38°C). Afternoon and evening thunderstorms could bring torrential downpours, flash flooding, damaging winds, hail, and a slight chance of tornadoes.
