Americans for Prosperity (AFP) has outlined a 'freedom-centered playbook' to address the escalating cost of living in the United States. The organization argues that current approaches, which often involve increased government intervention through subsidies, regulation, and price-setting, are counterproductive. Instead, AFP advocates for policies that remove barriers to production, foster competition, and empower individual choice. The proposed solutions target key economic sectors, including energy, healthcare, housing, and groceries. For energy, AFP suggests reforming permitting laws, such as the National Environmental Policy Act, the Clean Water Act, and the Clean Air Act, to expedite infrastructure development and increase energy supply.
