State Senate Candidate Louise Stutes Settles Campaign Finance Violations with $2,000 Payment
Rep. Louise Stutes, a Republican from Kodiak, Alaska, has agreed to pay over $2,000 to settle campaign finance complaints. These complaints were filed by Randy Ruderich, a former chair of the Alaska Republican Party, and pertain to improper campaign finance reporting and spending during the 2020, 2022, and 2024 elections. The Alaska Public Offices Commission approved the settlement on July 28, which includes a penalty of $2,643.50 and a repayment of $13,869.44 to her campaign. Stutes, who is running for state Senate, acknowledged the mistakes as unintentional and has since hired a professional to manage her campaign finances.
