Warriors of Israel Rebrands to Support Growing Number of Wounded Veterans
Friends of Irgun Nechei Zahal, also known as Beit Halochem USA, has rebranded as Warriors of Israel. This change reflects the organization's commitment to supporting the increasing number of wounded Israeli soldiers, particularly in the wake of recent conflicts. The organization, which is the official U.S. branch of the Zahal Disabled Veterans Organization (ZDVO), aims to provide lifelong rehabilitation and support for an estimated 90,000 wounded veterans. Since October 7, 2023, over 26,000 soldiers have been wounded, many suffering from physical injuries, PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Warriors of Israel emphasizes that the recovery journey for these younger veterans will be lifelong, requiring sustained investment in opportunities, resources, and community support. The organization operates five rehabilitation centers across Israel, offering physical rehabilitation, mental health care, adaptive sports, education, career development, and programs for families.
