Mitch McConnell Misses Fancy Farm Picnic Due to Ongoing Rehabilitation

His office released a statement on July 27, indicating that he is working hard to return to his Senate duties and maintain his schedule in Kentucky. The Fancy Farm picnic, scheduled for August 1, is a traditional event where politicians deliver speeches to lively crowds. McConnell expressed regret at missing the event, which would have been his last as an elected official. The Office of the Attending Physician is closely monitoring his rehabilitation, noting that his childhood polio affects his mobility. McConnell, 84, is not seeking reelection and will leave office at the end of the year.
