19-Year-Old Arrested in Homicide of Reston Woman in Great Falls Park
Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos, a 19-year-old man, has been arrested in connection with the homicide of Carmen Lizet Puch, a 42-year-old mother from Reston, Virginia. Puch was found stabbed to death in the parking lot of Difficult Run Park in the Great Falls area of Fairfax County. A jogger discovered her near her car on Monday morning. Cedillos-Campos was a coworker of Puch at Bitez restaurant in Herndon. Fairfax County police identified Cedillos-Campos as a suspect within 48 hours by processing evidence from the park, reviewing digital information and surveillance recordings, and interviewing Puch’s relatives, friends, and co-workers. He was taken into custody without incident in Prince George’s County, Maryland, with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service and Prince George’s County police. The motive for the crime remains unknown, and authorities are expected to release further details. Police are also investigating the role of a black sedan seen in surveillance footage near the park.
