EF-1 Tornado Confirmed in Greene, NY; Warmer Weather Ahead
The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-1 tornado with maximum winds of 90 mph struck Greene, New York, located in southern Chenango County, northeast of Binghamton. This tornado occurred during a tornado warning issued on Tuesday afternoon. Meanwhile, fall-like temperatures were observed on Wednesday, with Syracuse recording a high of 70°F (21°C), just below the seasonal average of 71°F (22°C). Cloud cover and occasional sprinkles were reported, particularly near and north of Route 31. Looking ahead, temperatures are expected to recover to more summery levels, with highs reaching the mid-to-upper 70s°F (24-26°C) on Thursday and lower 80s°F (27-28°C) on Friday under mostly sunny skies.
