Erin Brockovich Challenges Data Center Secrecy to Protect Local Communities
Environmental activist Erin Brockovich has launched a campaign to increase transparency around the construction and operation of data centers in the United States. She has introduced a website that maps data centers based on reports from local residents. Brockovich's initiative comes after receiving nearly 4,000 submissions highlighting concerns about noise, water usage, and rising utility bills. The primary issue, however, is the lack of transparency, with residents often unaware of projects until after permits are issued. Brockovich criticizes the practice of developers and local officials signing non-disclosure agreements, which keeps communities in the dark.
