Trump's Board of Peace Assures Israel on Gaza Withdrawal Conditions
The Board of Peace, under the leadership of President Trump, has assured Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel's withdrawal from Gaza will only commence following the complete disarmament of Hamas. This assurance comes after Netanyahu's security cabinet expressed concerns over a proposed phased withdrawal plan. The plan, which was initially hailed by President Trump as a significant milestone, involves Hamas handing over its weapons to a Palestinian governing committee. However, Israeli officials, including Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, have criticized the plan, claiming it differs from what was initially presented to the cabinet. The Israeli government has communicated its concerns to the United States, emphasizing that the public version of the plan does not align with Israel's positions. Despite these tensions, the Board of Peace has stated that a common understanding has been reached with Israel regarding the shared objectives of the withdrawal plan.
