Khajuraho Dance Festival 2026 Introduces Carnival Format to Enhance Cultural Engagement
The Khajuraho Dance Festival 2026, set against the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Khajuraho Group of Monuments, is scheduled from February 20-26, 2026. This year's festival introduces a new Carnival format aimed at broadening public engagement and enhancing the cultural experience. While maintaining its focus on classical Indian dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and Odissi, the festival now includes daytime cultural activities, interactive spaces, and community-oriented experiences. The festival serves as a platform for cultural dialogue, featuring lectures, demonstrations, and informal interactions that deepen the understanding of India's intangible cultural heritage.
