Alexandria Police Department Arrests Five, Seeks Three More in Third Street Homicide Investigation
The Alexandria Police Department (APD) has arrested five individuals and is actively searching for three additional suspects in connection with the August 13 homicide of 20-year-old Patrick Battles, III. Battles, III died from injuries sustained in a shooting that investigators determined occurred in the 3700 block of Third Street. Police responded to a local hospital around 10:50 p.m. on August 13 after receiving reports of a gunshot victim. Those arrested include Tijah Foster, 21, charged with second-degree murder; Tyler Winchester, 20, charged with illegal use of a weapon and negligent carrying of a weapon; Xavier Walker, 21, charged with illegal use of a weapon and negligent carrying of a weapon; Jamarion Williams, 22, charged with illegal use of a weapon and negligent carrying of a weapon; and Jaylynn Wayford, 22, also charged with illegal use of a weapon and negligent carrying of a weapon.
