PennDOT Reschedules I-81 Ramp Closures for Paving Project Near Carlisle
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced the rescheduling of overnight ramp closures on Interstate 81 near Carlisle, Cumberland County. The closures are part of an ongoing paving project aimed at improving road conditions between Mile Marker 47 and Mile Marker 52. The work, initially planned for earlier dates, will now occur from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM on specified nights, weather permitting. The project includes asphalt resurfacing, drainage improvements, and other construction activities. New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc. is the contractor for this $11.8 million project, which began in March 2026 and is expected to conclude by August 2027.
