Pennsylvania Attorney General Charges Two in $1.5 Million Medicaid Fraud Scheme
Attorney General Dave Sunday of Pennsylvania has announced charges against Ashley Griffin and Yolanda Wright, two personal care attendants from southeastern Pennsylvania, for defrauding Medicaid of nearly $1.5 million. The charges include felony Medicaid Fraud, theft by deception, and conspiracy. An investigation revealed that between 2020 and 2023, Griffin submitted over 64,000 work hours for $1.2 million in reimbursements for work not performed. On numerous occasions, she reported working more than 24 hours in a single day. After being questioned, Griffin's fraudulent reports decreased, but she allegedly paid Wright to continue the scheme, resulting in an additional $275,000 in false reimbursements.
