Flood Watch Issued for Upstate New York Amid Heavy Rain Threat
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for much of western and central New York due to expected heavy rain and thunderstorms. The watch is in effect from 10 a.m. Sunday through late Sunday night, with forecasts predicting rainfall rates of up to 2 inches per hour. This could lead to flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas, as well as urban areas with poor drainage. Major cities under the watch include Buffalo, Rochester, and Niagara Falls.
