Tropical Storm Nolo, currently located about 300 miles southeast of Hawaii's Big Island, is forecasted to intensify into a major hurricane by Saturday morning. The storm is moving at 6 mph with sustained winds of 40 mph. Heavy rainfall is expected to begin Thursday and continue through the weekend, with totals ranging from 8 to 12 inches across most areas and up to 24 inches on the eastern side of the island. Localised rainfall could exceed 30 inches, posing a significant flood risk. A Hurricane Watch has been issued for the Big Island, and Flood Watches are in effect for several islands, including Maui, Molokai, Lanai, and Kahoolawe.
