West Virginia State University Exceeds Capital Campaign Goal, Raising Over $26.4 Million
West Virginia State University (WVSU) has successfully completed its 'State of Tomorrow' capital campaign, surpassing its initial goal of $25 million by raising over $26.4 million. The campaign saw contributions from 3,403 donors, with more than $11.9 million specifically allocated to student scholarships. A significant portion of the donors, 1,092 individuals, were first-time contributors to the university. The achievement was celebrated with a student-focused event on the campus quad, featuring live entertainment from Grammy-nominated rapper Petey Pablo, music by WVSU alumnus DJ ActRight, and performances by WVSU students and the Dance and Cheer Team. Free lunch was also provided to students, faculty, and staff from local vendors.
