Senator Mitch McConnell Discharged from Rehab, Continues Recovery at Home
Senator Mitch McConnell, a Republican from Kentucky, has been discharged from a rehabilitation facility and will continue his recovery at home. McConnell, who is 84 years old, was hospitalized in mid-June after suffering a fall at his home in Washington, D.C., and subsequently contracted pneumonia. He has not been seen in public since his hospitalization. In a statement, McConnell expressed gratitude for the care he received and stated that he will maintain an intensive regimen of physical therapy from home. He also plans to continue engaging with his staff and colleagues on important Senate business. Despite his absence from public view, McConnell has periodically released written statements to update on his recovery.
