Legal Marijuana NOW Candidate Mike Marvin Withdraws from Nebraska Senate Race Due to Health Issues
Mike Marvin, the Legal Marijuana NOW candidate for the U.S. Senate in Nebraska, has withdrawn from the race, citing worsening health issues. Marvin announced his decision on Facebook on Friday afternoon. He previously served as the executive director of the Nebraska Association of Public Employees from 2013 to 2017, retiring due to serious health concerns. A recent medical follow-up confirmed a deterioration in his condition, leading to his decision to step down from the campaign. Despite his withdrawal, Marvin's name will remain on the ballot. He is now urging his supporters to back nonpartisan candidate Dan Osborn over the incumbent Republican candidate, Pete Ricketts. Marvin emphasized that his primary goal has always been to defeat Pete Ricketts, and given his health, he cannot dedicate the necessary effort to the race. The Nebraska general election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3.
