Man Connected to Missing Person Investigation Commits Suicide in Temecula
A man identified as Derek R. Arnett, 66, of Temecula, who was a person of interest in the disappearance of Frank Torres, 61, from Pauma Valley, has died by suicide. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department reported that Torres was reported missing after he was not found at his home. During the investigation, Torres' vehicle was discovered abandoned near a park in Temecula, prompting the Central Homicide Unit to take over the case due to suspicious circumstances. Arnett was sought for questioning, and his vehicle was later found in a parking lot in Temecula. When approached by deputies, Arnett was found with injuries consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into Torres' disappearance continues, with authorities urging anyone with information to contact the Central Homicide Unit.
