Albuquerque Firm Selected to Develop Master Plan for New Mexico State Fairgrounds Redevelopment
Hartman + Majewski Design Group, an Albuquerque-based firm, has been chosen to create the detailed master plan for the redevelopment of the New Mexico State Fairgrounds. This multi-year project, overseen by the state General Services Department, aims to revitalize the area with a new park, pedestrian improvements, mixed housing, mixed-use commercial development, and a sports stadium. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham's office projects that the redevelopment will support approximately 940 jobs annually over a 30-year period. GSD Cabinet Secretary Anna Silva stated that this contract award is a significant step in establishing the planning and design framework for Phase One of the project. The General Services Department will select an anchor developer in December to use this master plan for the initial construction phase, which could include housing, parks, an event center, and a stadium.
