Law Enforcement Investigates 400 Unopened Ballots Found in Renton
Law enforcement, alongside King County Elections and the Washington Secretary of State, is investigating the discovery of nearly 400 unopened ballots found next to a dumpster in Renton. These ballots, primarily from King County, were not filled out and were never delivered to voters. They were addressed to individuals using storefront mailboxes and spanned elections from 2022 to 2025. State GOP leader and Republican state Rep. Jim Walsh highlighted the security risk posed by the ballots, although no voter fraud is suspected. The ballots were found by a friend of Walsh, who attempted to contact King County Elections without success.
