First Place for Youth Implements AI Tool to Reduce Staff Burnout and Administrative Burden
First Place for Youth, a national nonprofit focused on providing housing, education, and career opportunities for young people transitioning out of foster care or experiencing homelessness, has successfully piloted an AI tool named 'Note Ninja.' This tool aims to alleviate staff burnout by streamlining administrative tasks. Staff members can speak or type notes from their meetings with young people into Note Ninja, which then generates a summarized, formatted report identifying key focus areas and next steps. The nonprofit participated in the Economic Mobility AI Accelerator, a three-month program designed to help organizations leverage AI for operational challenges. An initial three-week pilot with eight staff members showed significant positive results, with 100% reporting decreased administrative burden and reduced burnout, and 80% reporting more time for direct work with youth and reduced overtime.
