Clearwater's Long Center Pool Reopens After Extensive Renovations
The Long Center's swimming pool in Clearwater, Florida, has reopened following a year and a half of renovations. The facility, known for being one of the few indoor, climate-controlled, Olympic-sized pools in the state, celebrated its reopening with a pool party attended by Clearwater Mayor Bruce Rector, City Council members, and local summer campers. Renovations included updates to water treatment systems, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, windows, roofing, and structural repairs. Joan Campbell, a 96-year-old swimmer and part of a world-record relay team, expressed her excitement to return to swimming at the facility. The pool will host a variety of activities, including elite swim competitions, water safety courses, and open swim sessions.
