Tinley Park's Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre Introduces Parking Fees, Sparking Public Concern
For the first time since its opening in 1990, the Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre in Tinley Park will implement parking fees for concertgoers. This decision has raised concerns among patrons who argue that the parking lot requires improvements and that the additional fees could impact the venue's popularity. The amphitheatre, owned by Live Nation, announced that starting January 1, parking passes will be mandatory for events, with general parking costing $20 if purchased online in advance or $25 on the event day. Premier parking and other options are available at higher prices. The venue, which can accommodate up to 28,000 spectators, has been a popular site for major performances. However, the introduction of parking fees has led to over 1,000 complaints on social media, with patrons citing issues such as unpaved lots and accessibility concerns.
