Motorcyclist Dies in Collision with SUV in Elk Grove, California
A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with an SUV in Elk Grove, California, on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred around 6:14 p.m. on Lewis Stein Road. According to the Elk Grove Police Department, a Honda CR-V was traveling northbound on Lewis Stein Road and attempting a left turn onto Dracut Drive. Simultaneously, a motorcycle was traveling southbound on Lewis Stein and began to turn onto West Stockton Boulevard, which is directly across from Dracut Drive. The motorcycle then continued straight, broadsiding the SUV. The motorcyclist, identified as a 33-year-old individual, was killed in the crash. The driver of the SUV was not injured. Following the collision, Lewis Stein Road was closed between Big Horn Boulevard and Sheldon Road, and West Stockton Boulevard was closed between Atkins Court and Michener Way for several hours. The police investigation into the crash is ongoing.
