Finnish Study Challenges Screen Time Assumptions, Links Increased Use to Better Cognitive Processing in Teenagers
A recent study conducted by Finnish researchers over eight years has found that children who spent more time on screens demonstrated better cognitive processing as teenagers. The study, published in the journal Pediatric Exercise Science, tracked 260 children from primary school into their mid-teens, measuring their movement, sitting habits, and cognitive abilities. Contrary to the initial assumption that increased screen time would lead to weaker minds, the data revealed that those with more cumulative screen time performed better on cognitive tests related to learning, attention, and working memory.
