Parent Charged in Kentucky State University Shooting Resulting in Student's Death
A tragic shooting occurred at Kentucky State University, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old student, De'Jon Darrell Fox Jr., from Indianapolis. The incident took place on the south side of the campus, near Young Hall, around 3:35 p.m. The suspect, identified as 48-year-old Jacob Lee Bard from Evansville, Indiana, is a parent of a KSU student. Bard has been charged with murder and assault. Another student was critically injured and remains in the ICU. The shooting was described by police as an isolated and targeted incident, with no ongoing threat to the community. In response, the university has canceled classes, final exams, and campus activities for the remainder of the week.
