Two Individuals Arrested After Standoff Closes Part of East Broadway in Columbia, Missouri
Two individuals were taken into custody following a three-hour standoff that led to the closure of a section of East Broadway in Columbia, Missouri. The Columbia Police Department and Boone County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence on Fyfer Place to serve a felony arrest warrant for Ethan James McCauley, 23, related to a prior weapons incident. According to police, McCauley refused to exit the residence. During the incident, Zoe Georgina Honovi, 21, allegedly obstructed officers from arresting McCauley and was subsequently arrested for hindering prosecution. Members of the Columbia Police SWAT team, Crisis Negotiation Team, and a Boone County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit assisted in peacefully arresting McCauley at 4 p.m. The incident prompted the closure of East Broadway from South William Street to South Old 63, with authorities advising the public to avoid the area and those in the immediate vicinity to shelter in place.
