Confusion Over K8 Declaration Affects Malaysian Petroleum Industry
Datuk Seri Jeyenderan Ramasamy, CEO of Maritime Network Sdn Bhd, has called on the Royal Malaysian Customs Department to clarify the implementation of the K8 declaration procedure. This procedure is crucial for the handling of petroleum cargo at Tanjung Langsat Port. Ramasamy highlighted confusion over the procedure's application, which is affecting industry operations. He has requested an official explanation to ensure industry players understand the procedure, especially regarding the handling of petroleum cargo after unloading into storage tanks. The call for clarification follows a report lodged with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over discrepancies between bills of lading and the physical movement of petroleum cargo.
