Palm Coast Woman Arrested for Felony Animal Cruelty After Abandoning Pets During Eviction
A Palm Coast woman, Erin Curley, 36, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of felony animal cruelty and confinement of animals without sufficient food or water. The arrest followed an investigation by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office and Palm Coast Animal Control, who responded to reports from neighbors hearing a dog barking and crying inside a home on Waybourne Place. Neighbors stated they had not seen Curley for several weeks. Authorities discovered a dog and a cat living in unsanitary conditions, surrounded by urine and feces, with no food or water. The home's electricity and water had been disconnected due to an eviction. Veterinarians determined the cat was emaciated, dehydrated, and suffering from severe health issues, leading to its euthanasia. The dog, though physically healthy, was deemed mentally unfit for adoption due to the abandonment.
