Bridgewater Police Officer and Good Samaritan Rescue Family from House Fire
A family of three was saved from a devastating house fire in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, early Friday morning. The fire broke out at a single-family home on Crescent Street around 1:30 a.m. A good Samaritan, Eduardo Alvarenga, and a friend noticed the fire while driving to a gas station. They called 911 and attempted to alert the residents by knocking on the door and honking the car horn. A police officer arrived shortly after and assisted in getting the family and their pets out of the house. The fire, which caused gas tanks in the garage to explode, destroyed the home and two cars in the driveway. Firefighters from several towns were called to help control the blaze, which took about 45 minutes to manage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
