Milwaukee Family Mourns Father Marris Virgil Killed in Friday Shooting
Marris Virgil, a 37-year-old Milwaukee father of three, was fatally shot on Friday evening near 12th and W. Keefe Avenue. The Milwaukee Police Department reported that Virgil suffered fatal gunshot wounds and died at the scene around 6:30 p.m. His family remembers him as a loving, family-oriented man who was devoted to his children, nieces, and nephews. His sister, Shilonda Leavy, expressed profound grief, stating, 'He was our everything.' His niece, Jameke Hayes, highlighted his efforts to change his life, mentioning he had recently started a new job.
