Amanda Ungaro Alleges Inhumane Conditions in ICE Detention, Cites Lice Infestation
Amanda Ungaro, a Brazilian model with past social ties to President Trump and Melania Trump, has described her experience in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody as 'hellish.' In an interview with El País, Ungaro recounted being held in Miami and later transferred to a facility in Louisiana, where she was detained with over 120 other individuals. She reported going days without sunlight and leaving the facility infested with lice. Ungaro's arrest in Florida was reportedly linked to an anonymous tip concerning a cosmetic clinic, despite her claims of having no prior criminal record. Her detention and subsequent deportation to Brazil have drawn attention due to her previous connections with the Trumps and Italian modeling agent Paolo Zampolli, who has denied any involvement in her detention.
