Roswell Rotary Club Celebrates Multi-Generational Interact Program with Youth Day Float
The Roswell Rotary Club (RRC) participated in a Youth Day event, showcasing a float themed 'Tapestry of Generations' to celebrate its Interact program. The float highlighted the club's long-standing commitment to youth service, tracing back to the first RRC-sponsored Interact Club at Roswell High School in 1987, initiated by Past President Trummie Patrick, Sr. His son, Trummie Lee Patrick III, was president of the RHS Interact Club in 1993, and his daughter, Taylor Patrick, is now in leadership for the Fellowship Interact Club, demonstrating three generations of involvement. In 2013, RRC member Sid Disher, along with incoming RRC President Dave Schmit and Rebecca Stone, expanded the program from one club to ten, encompassing elementary, middle, and high schools. The float was designed by Joe Mazzeo and built by students from 16 Interact clubs, with significant support from the RHS Construction Department.
