Barney Frank, a prominent Democratic congressman known for his advocacy of gay rights and significant contributions to financial reform, has died at the age of 86. Frank, who served in Congress for 32 years representing parts of Boston, was a trailblazer for LGBT rights, becoming the first member of Congress to voluntarily come out as gay in 1987. He was also the first sitting congressman to marry someone of the same sex.
