Persistent Drought Concerns in Huntsville Amid Limited Rainfall
Huntsville, Alabama is experiencing ongoing drought conditions, with the National Weather Service (NWS) indicating that the area remains in a severe drought. Recent weather patterns have been characterized by warm, dry days, and the forecast for the upcoming week suggests no significant rainfall. Although there is a possibility of receiving up to 1.5 inches of rain by the end of the week, this is unlikely to substantially alleviate the drought. The first half of April saw less than half an inch of rain, contributing to a year-to-date deficit of 4.71 inches below normal. Rainfall over the past 90 days has been only 50-75% of the typical amount, exacerbating the dry conditions.
