Mississippi State University Receives $10 Million Gift for Industrial Engineering Department
Mississippi State University's Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, within the Bagley College of Engineering, has received a $10 million gift from alumnus Fred P. Burke and his wife, Sara Jean Burke. Fred P. Burke is the president, CEO, and co-founder of Guardian Pharmacy Services, a leading pharmaceutical service company. The donation is intended to establish programs that will benefit faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students through fellowships, scholarships, facility upgrades, and recruitment initiatives. A key focus of the gift is to encourage students to pursue both engineering and business education during their studies at the university. This contribution builds upon the Burke family's history of supporting MSU students and faculty, which includes the Fred and Sara Jean Burke Endowed Study Abroad Program fund, having previously supported over 70 students in international learning experiences.
