European Commission Approves €100 Million Austrian Aid for Cleantech Manufacturing
The European Commission has approved a €100 million scheme proposed by Austria to bolster clean technology manufacturing capacity. This initiative is part of the Clean Industrial Deal State Aid Framework (CISAF), which was adopted by the Commission in June 2025. The scheme aims to enhance the production capabilities of clean technologies, such as batteries, solar panels, and windmills, by providing subsidized loans to both small and medium-sized enterprises and large enterprises. The aid is intended to support investments in strategic sectors and will be available until December 31, 2026. The Commission determined that the Austrian scheme aligns with the CISAF conditions, as it encourages the production of clean technologies and their critical components, contributing to the transition towards a net-zero economy.
